Never have a human do that which should be done with software. This is a lesson that every industry has to learn, even ours. Our jobs, too, will be automated away.

I got nearly a four times speed-up after committing to a software-driven solution. I simply train the software how to do the tasks, and then it learns from my mistakes and comes up with the optimal solution. In some environments the improvements aren't nearly so obvious, but it's not abnormal to see 5-10x performance improvements!

I'm apprehensive of the day when software exceeds human capabilities. I fear it is coming sooner than we expect.
